......that we as a species/society have our expectations set far too high. They're unrealistically high. We want humanity to be something that we won't ever be: perfect.
So, we invented morals, ethics, religion and social codes to try and mold each and every one of us to this imagined utopia where every human gets along flawlessly with each other.
But has any of it worked? To a certain degree, but not as a whole. If you take a look through human history, even human history across the globe, you'll see the same distinct pattern.
Chaos, violence, and discord.
Why is this? Why must we influence others and their lives?
Why can't we simply stay with the ones who love us for who we are and forget the rest of the world?
Arrogance is a likely suspect and we can't seem to get over that factor about ourselves.
The harsh fact of the matter is: you can't make everyone like you and everyone's not obligated to like you. You can riot, protest, vote, etc. It won't change anything.
You'll still get jaw-dropped by something you find idiotic or immoral somewhere along the line.
Another harsh reality: we're all simply too different for this foolish dream of "unity" and "equality" to become reality. Once again, look through humanity's worldwide history and see the battles and bloodshed in the pursuit of this folly. It hasn't amounted to much, has it?
We can be civil at best, but this "equality" mantra has to end for it's unrealistic for the human species.
This is because humans are feral at heart. We are feral creatures that wear a thin veil of civility to hide it. It's all too easy for that veil to blow off. Many seemingly decent people will throw that veil to the wind in a heartbeat if they're angry enough. Many don't even need a reason to be angry and just want to sow discord. Or they'll hide their anger behind a "noble" cause.
Basically, morality, ethics, and such are manmade concepts. They don't come natural to us because that's not truly who we are.
We do things out of fear. We hate things that we are afraid of. And when we hate things (or people), we lash out in the best we know how to: violence.
But so very few of us know how to rein in those primal feelings. We've tried education and laws, but they're not working out so well.
We're desperately trying to abide by and uphold said laws, but humanity's true, inner beast is itching for action.
It's because we hate the truth about ourselves. We'd rather live a lie than accept our true nature. We may have smatterings of intelligence and sentience, but it only graces the presence of the rare few.
We try to water down the truth, hide it, beat around the bush, distract ourselves from it, whatever we can to keep up this civilized facade.
But are we finally at critical mass so to speak? Distrust in the system at large is at an all-time high, but so far, the civilians are the ones facing the most harm. They're so angry that they harm anyone near them, be they the targets of their anger or not.
The primal beast has awakened and it's a question of if the truly civilized ones will survive.
True freedom is taking care of yourself and your family (if applicable). True freedom is not worrying about who is or isn't in charge of a nation. True freedom is not worrying about who does and does not like you.
True freedom is not interfering others' lives.
Once you adapt these mottos, life becomes easier.
hI believe that society/humans are too intrusive in each other's lives. That's what's causing the problems.
If could leave each other alone, existence may be much easier and enjoyable.
Well, I've never been so......so sickened by people before. I was already a misanthrope, but honestly, people this year have sunk to a new low. It's like people have taken pills that made them angry, violent toddlers. Or if they didn't, did Earth pass through a membrane into an alternate dimension?
Something is wrong with people this year. People destroying towns under the name of "equality", wantonly attacking others, activist groups behaving exactly like the things they hate, idiots wanting to usher in a regime that's caused financial strife to several other countries (Socialism/Communism), and impatient, violent presidential supporters bum-rushing election centers with angry demands and even guns.
(FYI, that's not going to make the counting go any faster.)
I'm done. I've never had that much faith in humans before, but this is it. What piddling of sympathy that I had has evaporated.
Some might say that "People are under a lot of stress this year." like that's some kind of excuse to condone madness.
But after looking through human history, it's been nothing but madness, corruption, stupid/emotional people, and hypocritical regimes. It hasn't changed anything then and it won't change anything now.
Humans love the beautiful lies too much.
So, oh great asteroid (or even black hole), put this miserable species out of its misery!
I've been hearing from some friends that there's some pretty troublesome glitches in the new dA system. People not being able to post art, journals, comments, write notes, etc.
dA has been loading extremely slowly for me lately and I wonder if it's only a matter of time before I'll experience the same glitches.
It's never dull around here.
