Apartment Life is Hell

Hell. Absolute hell.
 

Finding a good one is a task in of itself.

The only good apartment that we ever lived in had beautifully thick walls and thick, plush carpet. We didn't even know we had neighbors. The only things thin in the apartment were the doors. We heard the neighbor blasting her music across the hallway (which was a large hallway), but it didn't bother us.

The place we're in now........hell........and the dude and the folks he sneaks in above us........hellions.

I swear they built this place with Popsicle Sticks and dry wall. We hear EVERYTHING this guy does. Argue, cussing someone out, crashing, stomping, etc. Incredibly, he says it's not him?!? Maybe not him directly, but he's a part of the problem. He's being protective of the people he sneaks in there (only has a one bedroom apartment apparently).

Here's a detailed list of the slag he's done:

1. May 2015 - The first day that we moved in his radio is blaring so loud that we can hear every syllable of the music and commercials. With a report to the landlord he toned it down a little.

2. July 2015 - Sneaks in a girl with a young child running around the place. Oh, and the girl blasts music throughout the day and night. Another report to the landlord. They toned it down a lot that time.

3.  August 2015 - Discovered he visits the crack house nearby and his nickname is "Wolf" and yes, his crack buddies howled to get his attention. Not only that, he would yell from his apartment on the third floor to the parking lot. Endured this all summer of 2016.

4.  December 2015 - We heard him actively abusing/killing a small dog. He would ram and run it over with his motorized wheelchair. I could hear the poor thing rocking the cage above my bedroom. Report number 3 and they swiftly got rid of the dog.....(don't know in what manner though...)

October 2016 - (We learned that he used to live above a lady who is 98% deaf. I believe her name is Brownie. He made so much noise he disturbed HER!)

5. November 2016 - Someone with extremely heavy footfalls who he claims is a "cleaning lady/helper" is prancing about at odd hours. Very loud random crashes and slams happening throughout the day and night. He also stays up late sometimes and the dude is loud.

6. January 2017 - Now the woman with the child is back as of 1-7-17. They may be just visiting, but we'll see how this plays out. Judging by past experiences, it's not going to go well.

He also has a demonic temper.....Saying that he "doesn't give a F@&k about the people on the second floor." (as told by Ms. Brownie) as well as "I don't care about nobody." (overheard in many of his arguments)

The noise is so bad that I sometimes have to wear earplugs (which are very uncomfortable to sleep in) to get any sleep. I often have my my earbuds in during the day in an attempt to have some form of peace. It doesn't block out the vibrations through the chairs and furniture though.

Are we being pricks? Do we have a right to complain any further?

If you're going to rent an apartment (I don't really recommend it), here are some guidelines and tips to follow:

1. New apartments are bad. They're constructing these clusterf@&k places quickly and cheaply. Go for older, renovated buildings. Olden days folks did it right.

2. Aim for the top floor. Nothing but birds above your head.

3. Best of all, rent/buy a small house (or whatever suits your needs). Or buy one of those tiny houses. Anything's better than an apartment. Even away from the city if that's your calling.

For now, we're stuck. (or maybe if/when I get a better paying job, I'll try to find my own tranquility)
Something has to give. Landlord only talks to them which is  mostly ineffective. They're probably showing mercy because he's in a wheelchair, but that's bull. The guy's also destroyed their property due to his habits. I wonder if we can complain regarding Noise Control laws or something. My sanity is shot.

I wish I was Megatron or Skeletor and just blast the fools all in to oblivion. I bet it'd feel good too.

HELP!!!!!!!
